The secret of the flying horse
Given our beginnings as a harness atelier, you can probably understand why we at Hermès view horses as our first patrons. So it should come as no surprise that many horse-themed paintings hang on the walls at Ginza Maison Hermès. One picture tells the story of the one horse that soared through the sky higher than any other horse.

Painted by Jean Demosthène Dugourc in 1816, Horse in Flight at Meudon, or Testu-Brissy’s Ascent depicts the eponymous Pierre Testu-Brissy (1770-1829) astride a horse at what is said to have been the first occasion a horse was flown in an airship in 1798.
Why not take a little time to explore Ginza Maison Hermès and discover just where this charming picture hangs?
