August’s theme
This year’s Hermès theme is “Drawn to Craft”.
Everything at Hermès begins with drawing, whether with a saddle stitch or a pencil stroke. According to Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director of Hermès, “It’s a line, a flourish, an outline, a shape. It’s the expression of a thousand ideas, the reflection of our curiosity. It’s about play and experimentation, surprise and discovery. It’s the plotline that keeps us in suspense, the building blocks of our stories, the symphony of our colours. It’s the link that binds us to our artisans. It’s our driving force, our raison d’être.”
At Hermès, drawing carries us along the paths of creation. It is in this spirit that we launch Lanterne Hermès 2025.

We discuss the creative process in which an Hermès objet is produced from a single drawing.
The walls of Ginza Maison Hermès are decorated with paintings, sketches, lithographs, and other works. Each month, we share the story of one such artwork.
